YOU’RE NOT QUITE READY
A lot of my music equipment got stolen recently. We don’t believe in free money so please buy this 16 song smattering of the ready or not ep, full-length demos, and bedroom recordings. I’ve wanted to put these demos out for FOREVER, so give it a good listen. I think you’ll be surprised. (the art is a design done by our good friend Rachel check out some of her stuff at http://thewackattack.com/about/)http://bravebird.bandcamp.com/album/youre-not-quite-ready
A lot of these recordings you can find floating around the internet, but a lot of them haven’t been heard before. These old recordings of Maybe You, Should I Give In, Too Late Now, and I’ll See You at the Ring of Fire really pull on my heart strings. We have a lot planned for this summer and if we get it all done you’ll get blown away.

Hey we did an interview with our friends Cody and Ryan from whaleradio.org. It’s really awesome and we’re super glad that they asked us to do it. For if you were ever wondering about the boys behind this band.
you stood in overalls, and you proved you could fly.
straddling a high wire, just to prove you were something.
i watched the new moon eclipsing the old one.
our town bathed in light as you incubated me

(90 plays)stood on the subway was mulling it over
then lied to police just to feel a bit older
if was a lighthouse then you were a hospice
and i was delighted, you tugged at my collar
you ran inside dipped your hands in the mortar
which dripped down my cheek as your hand slid across it
i go to bed hungry and wake up exhausted
and i care too much to tell you ive lost it

Youth Novel
Pinch, Punch. First of the month. Now that’s out the way, I want to talk about Ann Arbor’s Youth Novel. This band haven’t been together very long at all, however are already making heads turn. Their passionate and catchy screamo, which I feel is a mix between William Bonney, Pianos Become The Teeth & more “twinkly” emo is a fantastic addition to Ann Arbor’s already brilliant emo bands (Pity Sex, Brave Bird & Gerald Field). With their demos recorded between Michigan & Jersey in various basements and dorms, but still sounding huge and very established, it seems like this band are going to fit into America’s ever growing emo scene just fine. Holding surprisingly powerful vocals that sound huge, great song structure & interesting chord progressions these two songs feel like they were recorded in a high-end studio. They just need to start playing shows & getting themselves out of the bedroom now, so they can prosper.
Thanks to Try Hard Zine for this sweet little write-up on us!
Youth Novel || Stay Here
(new song)
In woeful throes of youthful lust,
I held my breath as you held my hand.
Heart to heart, flesh to flesh,
honesty, emotion long repressed.
Confidence and poise that I could never imitate
as you led me down the stairs to where my hopes had lied in wait.
This is how I choose to remember you,
in the light of some hallway I’d never know again.
“Please stay with me.”
And even though our words were wasted, they had never been more true.
Your gentle wrists, your sacred smile. Each longing breath, I take for you.
